SignalSketch ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

SignalSketch collects minimal data necessary to provide WiFi analysis functionality:

  • WiFi Network Data: Signal strength (dBm), channel information, SSID names, and network metadata for analysis purposes.
  • Device Information: Device model and Android version for compatibility and troubleshooting.
  • User-Created Content: Floor plans and survey data you create within the app, stored locally on your device.
  • Speed Test Data: When you opt-in to run a speed test, your public IP address and network performance results (download/upload speeds, latency) are collected by M-Lab and released into the public domain.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

  • Provide WiFi analysis and site survey functionality
  • Perform internet speed tests (with your explicit consent)
  • Generate PDF reports based on your survey data
  • Improve app performance and user experience

4. Data Storage

All survey data, floor plans, and reports are stored locally on your device. We do not upload or transmit your survey data to external servers. PDF reports are generated on-device.

5. Third-Party Services

SignalSketch uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Play Billing: For in-app purchases. Please review Google's Privacy Policy for information on how purchase data is handled.
  • M-Lab (Measurement Lab): For internet speed testing. When you run a speed test, your public IP address and network performance results are released into the public domain under the CC0 1.0 license for global research purposes. 6. Permissions

SignalSketch requires the following Android permissions:

  • Location: Required by Android to scan WiFi networks. We do not store or transmit your location.
  • WiFi State: To analyze nearby WiFi networks and signal strength.
  • Internet: To perform speed tests using M-Lab infrastructure (requires user consent).
  • Storage: To save and export PDF reports to your device.

7. Children's Privacy

SignalSketch is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
